Welcome to my review of the two part season 6 premiere "The Crystalling". So, we start premiere with Starlight trying to find her way around Twilight's castle.
A theme later and we're at The Crystal Empire. When the mane 6 plus Spike and Starlight arrive they split up.Starlight and Spike go to see Starlight's old friend Sunburst, while the mane 6 go to see the baby. Also Shining Armor is hilarious in this episode.
So it's revealed that the baby is an alicorn and the first born alicorn. But forget the first born alicorn, look how adorable the baby is and how big its horn and wings are.
We switch back to Spike and Starlight. Starlight doesn't want to talk to Sunburst about her past so she stalls. Back at the castle the baby manages to brake The Crystal Heart - an ancient artifact that protects the empire from the frozen north.
Every pony panics and they star looking for spells to fix the crystal heart. While this is happening Starlight and Sunburst start catching up but it gets awkward because they don't want to talk about their past.
Twilight finds a spell that could fix the crystal heart but the baby some how shoots a laser and burns the book. The rest of the mane 6 have to convince the ponies attending the ceremony to go home where it's safe. But the ponies are being stubborn and don't want to leave. After some more panicking, Starlight returns with Sunburst. They both revealed the truths they were hiding. Sunburst finds a few spells the work well together and the Crystal Heart is saved.
The episode ends with every pony getting crystallized. Oh, and the baby is named Flurry Heart.
